What to expect from a singles event
Never been to a singles event before? Know what to expect before you walk through the Single & Mingle doors so you're fully prepared.

Singles events can vary widely depending on the organiser. The majority of our events take place in the evening at hand-picked bars and are a casual and relaxed mingle.

Lots of singles under one roof

We put a lot of time and effort into promoting our events across various channels to attract as many new singles at each event as possible. And we’re proud to share that at most events we get 70% new faces – which is HUGE!

There’s no substitute for meeting people out and about in real life – and knowing everyone around you is single takes lots of pressure off.

All you have to do is book your ticket, choose your outfit, and turn up at the venue.

Our events are currently aimed at heterosexual singles and mixed-age (at the time of writing this – October 2023).

We try our hardest to achieve a 50/50 mix of ladies and gents, but can not always guarantee this.

Warm welcome from your hosts

We have a great team of hosts who are always excited to welcome you to Single & Mingle.

Upon arrival, you will be:

Our hosts will be around during the event to ensure you’re having a good time. And if you need them for anything, they’re very happy to help – just ask!

Ice-breakers

Our fun and relaxed singles events feature an optional ice-breaker that helps to get people talking. You’ll be introduced to this when you arrive at the event and then it’s up to you whether you take part or not. There’s no forced fun at Single & Mingle, you know!

Ice-breakers we’ve done in the past include:

Games

You can’t beat a good old fashioned game, can you!

At most event you’ll find a game or two knocking about to help get people mingling and engaging with one another.

Games at previous events include:

Will you show your competitive side?

Conversation starters

Scattered around the room you’ll find lots of Single & Mingle Conversation Starters – little cards, each with a question on that you can ask the person or people next to you.

They’re a great way to ease your way into the event and get chatting to folk.

Here are a few examples:

You get the idea.

The occasional ding ding

Every so often, we sound a bell. This is used as a prompt to get you mingling.

The bell is designed to:

You get the idea.

Safe environment

We promote safe-dating and want people to feel at ease before, during, and after a singles event.

If you feel unsafe or vulnerable at any point, come and find a host, or go to the bar and Ask For Angela.

Connection request service

After each event, you’ll receive a follow-up email inviting you to submit a connection request.

So if you met someone you liked, but didn’t get their details, this is your chance to allow us to try and connect you, on your behalf.

All you need to do is complete a quick form giving your name, a short message to the lucky person, and the contact details you’d like us to share, and we’ll pass on your request via email.

It’s worth pointing out that we don’t chase requests. Once we’ve sent your request, it’s up to the recipient to get back to you. If you don’t get a response, please don’t be offended – it just means they’ve either not picked up your email, or they don’t know how to say no.

Please remember that if you receive a request and reply to them, they have your details.

Have a question?

If there’s anything you’re unsure of, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
